Welcome in Haute Tarentaise

Crossed by the Route des Grandes Alpes, the Haute Tarentaise is home to some stunning unspoilt countryside for cyclists, with some legendary cols and magnificent panoramas.
The villages and towns in the area, Les Chapelles, Bourg Saint Maurice, Séez, Montvalezan-La Rosière, Sainte Foy Tarentaise, Villaroger, Tignes and Val d'Isère, have installed an innovative timing System for cyclists who come to climb to the cols and resorts from the valley.
And this year the Tourist Offices are offering family-friendly cycling routes that make it easier to explore the mountains by bike.
Happy biking !

Time yourself

Put your cycling endurance to the test on the climbs to the cols and resorts of the Haute Tarentaise with the Tîmtoo timing system.
Your time will be published online on the Savoie Mont Blanc website at www.savoie-mont-blanc.com/chrono <http://www.savoie-mont-blanc.com/chrono>.
The Timtoo timing system enables you to pit yourself online against other cyclists on the same climbs and feature in the general classification.

The cycling routes
From Bourg Saint-Maurice, timing may be done on the following climbs :
  • Cormet de Roselend
  • Col du Petit Saint-Bernard
  • Les Arcs (Arc 1800)

How does it work
This timing system uses a chip that you have to activate (by pressing it gentiy) as you pass a start terminal. When you arrive at the col or resort your time is recorded and published online on the Savoie Mont Blanc website. If you pass an intermediate terminal you can continue your climb to Tignes, Val d'Isère or the Col de l'Iseran; the system will start a second timer.
